XXX, i.e. Another Vin Diesel movie. Personally I can't stand the guy, let alone any movie he's been in.
And I maintain that when you re-renter the atmosphere at orbital velocities, YOU WILL DIE without a windshield. I don't care how sexy people think Vin is, Pitch Black and TF&F sucked.

Edit: Forgot an X...

Well to be honest, Vin is damn sexy.

I wish I looked even half as good as he does, the fucker.

Christ.

So, what, it would have killed any of you to say, "Hey, Thorn, you and Eva will be on the same continent when a movie starring an actor you both like opens? I'm not interested, but you two have fun."??

Thank you all for crapping on my parade. (Well, except IC and Jaded.)

I hate Vin, I really do; he's good-looking, has a to-kill-for voice, is rich, is a fairly good actor, kicked way too much arse in Pitch Black (a film that rocked, because of him), and is generally an all-round too-cool guy. I hate that fucker.

Umm, I'll be in the cheering section providing strawberry twizzlers and smuggled chocomel. And that's cause I want to see Thorn really enjoy a flick.

*high fives Veed* Plus he's a D&D geek. :)
Personally I can't stand the guy, let alone any movie he's been in.
So you hated Saving Private Ryan, The Iron Giant, and Boiler Room? *rolls his eyes*

Then again, here's the premise for XXX::
Vin Diesel plays Xander Cage. He's your standard adrenaline junkie with no fear and a lousy attitude. When the US Government "recruits" him to go on a mission, he's not exactly thrilled. His mission: to gather information on an organization that may just be planning the destruction of the world, led by the nihilistic Yorgi.

Saving Private Ryan was stupid, IMNSHO. Guns + Speilberg does not an instant classic make.
His acting doesn't count in The Iron Giant, because it's a cartoon, and I've never seen boiler room. I don't care how good his acting was in Boiler Room, there's still 4 more railroad spikes driven into his coffin.

And I maintain Pitch Black sucked! Can someone please explain to me where you can find even an iota of intelligence in this - and I use the term loosely - film?

Does every movie need to have intelligence in it? I know some extremely smart people who thoroughly enjoy stupid movies. You probably know them, too. ;o)

It is all about the Hellraiser marathon.

(Oh, and for the final record: I can't make it. Sorry, guys. You can bet your pasty-white ass that I'll be there next year, though. Even my band director paying me large sums of money to teach camp could not prevent me from attending.

Post by Cazmonster »

For the record, if I'm the only guy who goes with the girls to see xXx, then I get all the loving that bounces off of the IMAX-sized Vin when we see it at the Point Ultrascreen.

Vin rocks and that's all there is to it.

It's not /technically/ an I-Max, but it is "the biggest screen in the midwest". It's huge. And if you're going to pay the same amount of money anyway, may as well see your movies on the biggest, baddest screen available.

One question, Thorn. How disappointed were you when you found out XXX was the title and not a rating? ;)

Just in case no one noticed, it seems that the release date for XXX has been bumped back. The official website indicates in the intro that the movie comes out on the 9th. A Billboard I pass everyday on the way home from work says the 8th.

The Official site is http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/triplex/

Just thought I'd pass this on....
