Well, I am. Good news, Reika! I'm sure we'll work out something with the hitching a ride and all.

You know, that reminds me of the Martha Stewart Drinking Game.

Any time Martha declares something a "Good Thing", everybody drinks. It's not nearly as deadly as Smurf, but I think getting drunk would make Martha more palatable, honestly.

Goods news, I have the time off. Now I just need to figure out what airline, what day I'm flying in and what day I'm leaving.....I was thinking of Milwaukee, since that seems to the most central spot and the easiest to get a rid to. :)

Thorn - Hm, that sounds like a good opportunity for serious alcohol poisoning...

Reika - Depending on your arrival time, Milwaukee and Madison are both perfectly acceptable.

Caz - I'm also going by how I'm going to get home, I really don't want to get a one way ticket to one place, and a one way ticket back from another place, it's mondo more money.

News...

Post by Jeff Hauze »

Here's the simple truth. I want to be there. I'm trying to be there. I haven't paid any attention to the plans or threads here. By roughly June 30th...I should know what shift I'll be on, permanently, whether I'm full time or part time, and whether I'll be working during that time frame. I'll also then be able to figure out how much vacation time I'll have, and if I can use it.

So, I guess that makes me a maybe. What I'm asking though, is how it works for unknown participants. What exactly do I need to do in the way of informing people, and who are those people? :)

My wife says that I talk about all you so much that we really really need to go this year.

So you can add me and Lisa to the roster of responsible adults in attendance.

It's an 11 hour drive, so we're thinking of coming in on Saturday and leaving on Tuesday.

The kids have gotten too big for their box, so we will probably leave them behind.

Yeah, well, normally, I wouldn't hang out with losers like you, but... y'know... my wife's making me do it. So I suppose... if I have to... twist my arm.

I am so looking forward to this.

Judging by those days, Bethy, you /won't/ be coming to Gencon at all?

I could really care fuck-all about GenCon, Adam. I mean, I'd love to go. Pariah's gonna be there (supposedly), and it would be a rockin good time, but really all I want is to see you guys. This lets me do that and works out with my schedule.

Thanks, Earl. I was reading through this thread and came up with about 25 names of people who would definitely be there and... well, the thought of not coming made me want to cry. So we're coming.

Of course, let me qualify this with:

My wife and I made this decision just today over lunch without looking at our calendars.

I could get struck by lightning between now and then.

My grandmother is truly on death's door.

School starts for my wife the week after the Gathering, and she may have to be at work Gathering week for staff inservices.

There are at least two important family weddings coming up and I don't know their exact dates.

All sorts of stuff can still conspire to fuck me up here. But I will do my level best. Hell, when it comes to the weddings, I may send my wife to those and come to the Gathering stag. We'll see.

My god. So happy.

Give your wife a big kiss from me tonight. Both of you deserve one. :o)

See you in August, Bethyaga.

And she says, "Of course, if you take me all the way to this Gathering thing and it turns out to be some swingers club, you know I'm going to have to kill you, right?"
