You kiss me with your eyes
Slightly open,
The eyelashes parted enough
To mimic the curve of your smile
And the smoothness of your skin
Against mine;
The roughness of your fingertips
Across my temple
Forces me to contemplate
The ridges of your spine
And the shower of freckles
Spread like condensed rainwater
On your perfectly shaped shoulders
That I simply cannot get enough of;
I forget what my mother
Always told me about girls
And how some ends just don’t meet
And all I can remember is your kisses
On my neck and the way you’ll
Touch me in the middle of the night,
Running your knuckles across
My face with the smallest trace of a grin
On your face like you’ve never
Been wrong and this has always been
Too right.
