[Short Story]Symphony of Chaos

The preface, Chaos is a character I originally dreamed up for TTF, but never really thought I had the skill to post there until it was shut down. There was a brief apperance on the TTF threads here (we should try that again in this forum). She is one of the few characters I consider of mine to be weird, even for me. A little talk last night that I managed to write for Winter (another of my wierd trio) got me thinking, and a song from todays R.E.M. album (Green) resulted in a self-bludegoning from a small story. Enjoy.

I watch the children come and go
A late, long, march into spring
I sit and watch those children
Jump in the tall grass
Leap the sprinkler
Walking the ground
Bicycle - clothespin spokes, sounds, smell of swingset hands

"Hello! I brought a friend today. Tina, say hi."
"She's weird."
"Tina! That's not very nice, you apologize right now..."

"It's okay...."

I will try to sing a happy song
I'll try to make a happy game to play

"I give up, you are smarter than me, you win again."
"Hee, its just an inverted Mixolydian scale on a 3 byte encode window."
"Well, I'll go see if anyone else can figure it out, okay? But I think you'll still win."
"Outside?"
"Mmhmm."
"...I can't go Outside, can I?"
"...no."

Come play with me I whispered to my newfound friend
Tell me what its like to go outside
I've never been

"You can't hack a person..how it she?"
"She stares out that huge window all the time, are you sure its okay? She might escape."
"Why? She doesn't know anything at all besides her room and the new one, so knows she can't go outside and has no reason to."

Actually, Chaos is quite sane, just very very autistic and thinks in symbols, numbers and music. She can't grasp the significance of letters real well so anything that looks the same as what everyone else uses means the same to her, its just hard on everyone else.

I ought to beat you silly for not posting this in TTF before, Wild. Perhaps one of these days I'll get it up and running again. Very nice work, btw. Would have gotten along well with null.
