Horizontal rule?

Horizontal rule?

Post by Serious Paul »

Yes or no? Horizontal rule is in my opinion a very helpful tool-Adam and 3278 managed to convince me its a great idea.

Assuming this is the purpose of the thread (bad Paul for being so vague with n00b[s] around and on a subject dear to them even), I suggest having the Signature field include a radio box for such an item, defaulted to on as such. One of the advantages of the current system is that it maintains the Bulldrek mentality of complete creative freedom. And despite hiccups in this freedom alignment, removing options doesn't seem keeping with the (if I may be so bold in using this term) spirit of the site.

You know I have taken notice of your post of late. Have you migrated here from any of the other SR style forums? (Underworld, DSF or what not...) Or is this a cold start for you?

The reason I ask is you show a lot of potential-your posts are really organized, well presented and well thought out. Traits I like in a poster around here.:D

Anyways, I do intend for it to be a part of the signature, built in. I don't think it'd infringe overly, but as always I bow to the masses. Its also something, I think, that could be set up with an "off" button.

I like the idea of it with the optional off button, too many posters don't leave any sort of space between their posts and signatures. Those who do that drive me bonkers when I try to read their posts because you don't know when the post ends and the signature begins. Having the off button as an option will allow people control over their signatures. However those who turn it off and don't leave some sort of separation will leave themselves open to much mocking. :)

Veed! *ahem* Yes...the sigs bleeding into the posts is rather annoying.

Don't worry, Paul. 5 minutes of debating here will change him. :D

We'll have to vote when we're done over whether or not it should have an "off" button. I don't think it should, personally.

I'll go for compromise, the sig field in profile can default to ">hr< Place sig here". Same effect, most people will leave it alone, less coding than adding an option field to profile as to whether or not you want horizontal rules in your sig :7

10:42 Adam: ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER! :)
10:44 Kai: Fuck off, how's that? ;P
10:45 Adam: Much better.
