Is bulldrek shit-slow for anyone else? Especially the forum-pages are extremely slow to load. Am I alone?

Its being really, really slow today, the rest of the server seems to be doing fine, so I'm not sure what's up. I'll keep an eye on it, maybe they're running maintenence of some sort that's affecting Bulldrek.

It slowed down when I'm being overwhelmed by series of digits in a pi.

I don't know what's happening on your server, Wildfire, but please check any backups or maintenance scripts that you might have running, especially on the database or database server because this is getting out of hand with loading times exceeding the 3 minute limit, usually ending up in "server not found."

Yeah, I'm having really long loads today again, but this time it mostly seems to be when posting or otherwise writing to the database. That's just a feeling, and I don't have a decent way to test it, but posting takes /forever./ Given that the big change is that it's morning again [here], I'm betting Deev's right; something's going on at the server level on a timer and it's killing us.

FYI, Jackal's Den, which is also on Wild's server, is working fine.

He's special anyway. He doesn't believe in snow :)

(note: It's good to know, and attempt to pinpoint the problem. I would say the problems would be with datastream, and how data is being written to or sent out. Hard to say. Does Jackal's website exist on a separate database?)

I'll fire an email over, what time frames are we looking at, GMT-wise? Its 14:45 GMT here, and everything seems to be running fine, and I last checkedd 5,6ish GMT last night.

Whoops, some explanation, chances are its because nothing else comes close to the DB size of Bulldrek. If they're backing up the 40+ MB, maybe 50 at this point, everyday, that would slow things down considerably.

Completely odd. You timestamps are a half hour ago, and here, its running great. I wonder if its some sort of delay between the colo and the northeast...

Either way, I'll give them a general timeframe of US East Coast AM and see what they say

I was going through the same problems this morning as well, it cleared up after a few hours though.

07:23 Eastern, either 12:23 GMT or 11:23 GMT (Damn this Daylight Savings Time) and the board crawls. Nearly a dead stop.

Of course, it's back up and running now, and has been for about a half an hour. Maybe more. Figure about 08:45-09:00 Eastern time.

It's 11.47EST and the board's still whack slow. Usually, it tapers off toward 09.00EST, but not today. Do we have any idea what's causing this yet?
