Small boats and the adventurer.

I know nothing of small boats, but what I am looking for is a narrow river boat that a party of ten could comfortably use for long periods of time on deep, slow/medium paced rivers. My first thought is to use a junk style boat, but if you have any other input it'd be appreciated.
