Okay here is what the dealio is, I am looking to see some innovative drone designs-Walkers, gas bags, you name it. I want it. What I would like is to start a little ocntest here, the reward is nebulous, since I don't have one yet, but here are the rules:
1. Drones have to be designed by the rules presented under SR3 rules-in otherwords we should be able to dissect it for points and nuyen and get a pretty consistent number.
2. Drones only-this does not preclude, however, drones from carrying people, just from being piloted (In my own mind) by the passengers it carries.
3. Any thing I miss?
Game on!

For anyone who has seen Red Planet (with Val Kilmer, j0!) this is a R3 work-up I did of AMEE a while back for DSF. Someone was looking for movie-inspired drones, so I figured I might as well. In theory, this is not quite game-spec, IIRC, since I allowed the Robot portion to control the UAV directly (which I'm not certain can be done) and I gave it a Cyber-Weapon Combat SkillSoft to simulate being trained in combat. I also considered adding other knowsofts and skill softs to effect the "wargames" programming AMEE had int he movie, but didn't get that far. If you drop the Ruggedness and the UAV -- and the dikote everywhere -- it's actually not all that expensive.
Next is a Robot Dog made for an Air Pirate (complete with Zepplinn and Pirate Family Edge) -- it was designed as a means of transport and a protector for him. As long as I'm pasting from his Toys file, I included one of his Small-walker stealth scouts. I use these or Micro-walkers with almost all of my Riggers now. Nearly invisible, and can get almost anwhere. Couple it with an Orientation System and map out anyplace you plan to hit. The IVIS in this case is because they're meant to work as a small group to efficiently map a region out.
At somepoint, assuming I ever get into using them again, I shoudl put together rules for climbing ability, since part of the point is that these (particularly the Micro-Versions) can climb in ways similar to insects. Straight up nearly sheer surfaces. The other varient I had for these was in Hive-Systems, having a Small Drone carry a RCD to slave to the main RCD and Drone Racks -- to carry the Micros. The Small infiltrates, then releases the Micro drones to swarm around. Essentially the Hive rules I was working on were an expansion on IVIS for controlling an entire set system of drones as a single unit -- giving simple orders for complex tasks.
Edit: Forgot the Actual values for things for AMEE, which I still have. If I have time later, I'll see if I can clean up the presentation of that info...
