Description:
Built by the same company as the Y-wing starfighter, the Travois-Class Transport is built to be a rugged and dependable vessel.

Instead of stark functionality these craft posses comfortable accommodations and amenities, making them popular as personal shuttles for some nobles. The main cabin features a double-occupancy bed and each of the four passengers sleep in individual cabins. These cabins are not as large as some, but are still quite a large difference from the cramped bunks found on most transport craft. In fact the craft can hold an additional 4 passengers if the single occupancy cabins are refitted with double bunks.

The ship’s hull and shields provide a remarkable durability to this craft. The weapons load-out tends to consist of only a laser cannon mounted in dorsal (top) turret, but owners typically either replace it with a stronger weapon or add missile launchers. The ship has a modest hyperdrive that is commonly upgraded to a faster x1 hyperdrive by owners. The ship’s speed is fairly decent for most civilian usage

Without number crunching, the biggest thing I notice is the size of these craft. Transports are by definition small and medium-sized craft. Tiny, diminutive and fine-sized craft are starfighters. Anything larger is a capital ship. Yes, this means that Lambda class shuttles max out the starfighter classification at 20m, the max for tiny size. Quirk of the system.

Size matters not.

And there are small sized starfighters (mainly some bombers), and tiny sized transports as well.

The Lambda is classified as a transport.

Not to get stuck on this point, but the Lambda class shuttle is listed as a starfighter in Starships of the Galaxy. SG is clear that ship classification is based on size, not function. If you want these classified as transports they need another 2m and change to their longest dimension so they qualify as small sized. If it doesn't matter, leave the size alone and classify them as starfighters.

It looks like a good concept. A smaller Citadel Cruiser. If you wanted to do it, more passsengers doesn't seem unreasonable considering the Lambda class has space for 20. The one thing the system doesn't differentiate is seating and berthing. Meaning, are your passenger spaces individual cabins or coach class. Hmmm, a luxury/basic/steerage modifier for passenger and crew spaces.

ah.. I was going by a description of the Lambda in a issue of Gamer that listed it as a transport.

I can't seem to get Starships of the Galaxy around here.
