Neverwinter Nights

Post by spudman »

Okay, so I just did it. I proved how big of a Great Retardo I am. I just ordered NWN online and added on next-day shipping. And now I'll have to blow another huge wad of cash getting one of my spare boxes onto my network properly so I can run a server. White Jebus hep me! :D

Only one store even had pre-order boxes. This way I know the game will arrive (eventually).

I imagine that my life will disappear into a haze of module building as soon as I get the game.

I have so much real gaming to do!

Cazmonster runs around in circles whanging himself in the head with a frying pan to try to eliminate the thought of NeverWinterNights.

Not the only

Course it might have something to do with the fact that our machines would blow up if we try to play it.

It is supposed to be more low-end machine friendly than most other new games out there now. Not quite as much as, say, Diablo, but moreso than Morrowind, for example.

[edit]

I grabbed the system requirements straight off of Bioware's site.

My box is far too obsolete to play NWN, therefore I don't currently care about it.

I love how most of the posts are about how they don;t care about the game :] <chuckel>

Anyways, i have the game. My computer meets the Minimum processor requiresments, mostly (P3 450 instead of P2 450), but I'm good on everything else.

I did make a post in SST on this, moving it here :]

Anyways, I spent 6 hours last night fighting to create a module. I have the basics up, but unfortunately, i don;t know scripting so I'm hosed there. Trying to figure out stuff as I go. Spud, we'll have to work on some stuff together :]

Caz: They're doing a Mac version :]

Anyway, the game is pretty cool if you like CRPGs, and the other features, like custom games and GM capabilities make it a fabulous online game, IMNSHO. :]

Let me know if you get it, we'll game, we'll create, etc.

It would be neat to have eventually, but I have no money right now, and am horrible about playing games on a regular basis eyes stack of PSX CRPGs. When it drops a price bracket, and we can get most of the college gang set up with a copy, I'll pick it up, we've been talking about being able to run our own little sessions over the net for years now.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Even now that I've had a real full-time job for a while, I find it hard to spend a lot on stuff. Recently upgraded to a new computer (finally) and even though I spent under a grand on it, I wasn't comfortable blowing a couple hundred bucks. But I needed something close to current generation since my old system was tapped out as far as upgrading ability goes.

But I've also been looking forward to this game for a long while, so the expenditure is worth it to me.

It was related in a /pants-changing/ way. The kind of way that said "stay up until 3am playing me or you're not a /real man/."

I went to bed at midnight. Because I have a real /job/. Damned game. :D

Ahhhh. I thought it was related in an age sort of way. *hikes up his Depends and shuffles off* :)

So are we going to get organized and have a Bulldrek NWN gaming group?

Ftr 9 / Clrc 4 -- or as I like to call him -- "the Human Cuisinart". Pity there's no Great Cleave feat in NWN, or he'd be death on two legs.

I'm all up for some multiplayer action. I think it'd rock the house to get a real party together and run the SP modules.
