Shadowrun OOC:: In the Dragons Secret Service-Team Gold

Post by Serious Paul »

Okay two slots in this game are full. Uncle Joeseph and Caz have them, that leaves three.

The concept::

You are one of the elite Saeder Krupp Dragons. A Special Operations team. Liek any team, you have all trained together for a long time. You are Operators, the front line Meat Grinders who do the dirty work. Your loyalty to your Corporation is only superceded by your loyalty to each other.

Each job you get is the one no one else can do. You are the best. Your equipment is the best. Your training is the best, and you have the corpoartions full support. You are the sharp edge of the sword.

You go in first, you leave last. You are life takers;heart breakers and name takers.

Think you have what it takes?

The Game:::

2 POSTS PER WEEK Minimum.
PCs will be generated according to the following:::

Any method as long as it is comparable to 250 points.Or 916 points for Becks.Use your preference of building a PC as long as it is by the book.

No Vampires,Otaku, Physical Mages, Shape Shifters

You are part of an Elite team. You have been recruited as a Team, trained a s ateam. You have passed inumerbale security checks, tests and other ordeals to get where you are. Character generation should reflect this. All PCs are intimately famaliar with each other and have worked togehter nonstop for at least three years. I expect you to work with each other on this.

The Plot::

This much I will say. Its a doozy. Be prepared for it to be very dangerous. Each job you pefrom is the most dangerous assigment SK can find, this is no exception. You are highly skilled operators whose sole purpose is to do the jobs no one else can do. You are beyond the shadows, beyond the pale, and beyond human. You are superhuman, and the jobs you undertake are no different.

Okay I will accept posts here or PMs. Whose in?

Got space? I'll be on the Roatrip/Gathering/GenCon North American Tour 2002 July 26th to Aug 18th at the latest though. Would that be a problem?

This will be so cool. There's no good reason I can see to give my guy spooky elite chrome. He's going to depend on training for once, that and really big guns that hurt things very badly...

As I said, I have 4 ideas four different character ideas for this, so I'll fill in, (One's a physad also, if no one mind's overlap).

Ideas:

Combat Decker
Close in combat physad
Combat mage
GOD (aka - sniper)

Okay I think in the PB3 format I can handle six players. SO the roster stands as follows::

3278
CazMonster
Uncle Joeseph
Wildfire
Cash
Sludig

You will each make characters along the aforementioned guidelines and then we can assign rank. Rank is actually important in this game. We can do it one of two ways:: The way I prefer is you guys choose your own rank structure, and chain of command. If for some reason their is problems or questions way number two is of course me.

Caz-Clickity Click?*Paul Blinks a lot.* Okay I am stupid so explain please? :D

That depends,as Paul pretends he knew that all along.. does any one really wnat to play a decker? I mean really really really really want to play a decker who needs to be a ble to HALO drop into hostile territory for the most dangerous run I can make? :evil

I can adjust. If we have one I can simply adjust my ideas, if we don't it won't be an obstacle to you completeing your mission.

Rough idea - MA and edged weapons, incl. possible chrome, combat yes character, aka not much in the stealth department. Not the leader type, more the independant agent and trusted aide when forced into stict command chains.

Couple of questions other than my private ones, how much do we need to worry about resources, and lifestyle...aka, what's provided? and...any room for a rookie after a trusted member gets gacked? (I'm volunteering for this btw..as a private) And yes, I'm working on the character now, it's burning a hole in mind. :)

More meandering thoughts, Peruvian, female, amerindian descent, brought into the team training speaking very little English, still isn't the best at it....

Okay Lifestyle:: You can buy one seperate from your corporate sponsored lifestyle, but you are already living in a High to Luxury lifestyle, when not beeing shot at and stabbed at and stuff.

Equipment::: You actually have to purchase your own Cyber. Treat all grades as available, and at BASE price. Thats right Ladies and Gents, Delta Grade is commonly available for you and of no extra cost. Weapons and equipment are issued to you, but they belong to the Corp. So if you want personal stuff it comes out of pocket. Also same goes for any contacts you want, and any type of extras-a non Company car, sex movies whatever. Thats all out of pocket.

During the actual mission I will issue a Frag Order and five paragraph order, which will detail the mission and all equipment you wil be given.

As for rookies? Clarify.

Rookie: As in she's gone through all the training, and on her first mission something unexpected happened, she pulled the rest out, but, only survivor of that team. Current team lost a member in a firefight...so they assigned her to this group. (Yes, the char is female)

Bad Sludig! Don't put bad thoughts in their minds!

Points spend like karma for initiation and free power points [that's the "20 point" thing I was telling Bull] and, for those of you who are curious, obviously there is a magical group available to you.

This is all countermandable by Paul, of course. I'm just quoting the standards and practices.
Paul wrote:Equipment::: You actually have to purchase your own Cyber. Treat all grades as available, and at BASE price. Thats right Ladies and Gents, Delta Grade is commonly available for you and of no extra cost. Weapons and equipment are issued to you, but they belong to the Corp.
As a balance to this, for the magical people, comes the initiatory group, one presumes. In addition, Paul, do you think it would be fair for magical people to be able to buy pre-bonded magical items - up to some limit, of course - for the same cost as unbonded items? Fair is fair, after all.

For the record, the odds that I won't be playing a full-blown magical character of one school or the other are very, very slim.

As for command...well, golly, it's time for all of us to start fighting over first and second in command. :)

Fair is indeed Fair. Oh for the Record you are once again my official whipping boy, in other words my AGM.

I concur that an initiatory group is available. You guys can iron out the details, once you do shoot it to me and chances are I will say yes.

32 lets discuss this limit on prebonded magical Junk you mention. Shoot em an Email or PM. I am intrigued by your ideas and would liek to subscribe to your news letter.

General Suggestions
1) Chose one branch of an existing military and use their ranking system. Looking at the current cast, I'd suggest one branch or another of the US military, just because they are almost always in the common language of the group: English
Here's a site for ranks, spelling, and comparison

2) The commander of the team shouldn't be any higher than a First Lieutenant. Remember, the Enlisted don't usually like Officers, but Lieutenants are low enough to be tollerable, so long as they aren't assholes.

More to come as I think of them.

What about drones and vehicles?

Also, to Team Gold:: How does a CCSS (CSSS? I haven't played SR in over a year and I've been itching to play)/drone rigger sound? There's vehicles, drones, buildings. Effective riggers can do two out of the three things, in my experience....

Also, where are we based out of?

For some reason I can't explain when I view the Words Without End Forum the OOC Thread for Team Gold does not appear, i have to use the link I posted in Team blue.

And yes same goes fro Drones and Vechiles-You can be issued whatever you need by request. All request from the Teams recieve priority. Anything else is personal and out of pocket.

What team am I, again? :conf :p This is so confusing.

Okay, I think a rigger would be awesome, Cash, particularly since we requisition vehicles from the motorpool, so you don't have to buy them. Giggle. Also, remember everyone, we allow double-dipping on money. So 60 points gets you 2 million nuyen or whatever. If people need help with the points-generation the way we do it, let me know and I can explain it.

As for how I feel about CCSS [Closed Circuit SimSense] riggers...hmm. I think I personally would prefer vehicles and drones, but that's not tactically-based. I just like drones. :) But since you don't have to buy equipment, I think it's possible you could do all three pretty easily; you won't have to buy the CCSS chips and adapters, etc., unless they're part of your cyberware.

Looks like my mage will work out fine. What's the current character breakdown?

32: As far as I know

Sludig (me): Physad, stealth/point man (female)
Wild: Close melee combat, physad (female)
Cash: Rigger
Uncle Joseph: No idea
32: No clue yet, possible mage
Caz: heavy weapons.

I'm definately a mage, then. I'll also be male. Joseph will be male, and likely a small arms specialist who uses the big stuff if he needs to. But I'm just guessing; I could be wrong. :)

I'll also likely be the tactical expert, with lots of military theory and small unit tactics. If we could all take SUT skills, that would help a lot, particularly if we get some decent BattleTac setups, which is exactly what people like us should have.

Who's covering electronics and signal intelligence? Cash? I'm thinking about things like comms, electronic evasion [for B&E, that sort of thing] and all of that. If the only electronically-adept person is Cash, he can't so much stay with the vehicles, which is fine, but we'll need to know that.

I'd like to recommend that, wherever possible, people's backgrounds be unified. That is to say that, where characters make it possible, these are people all of the same age who have grown up together in SK compounds all over the world since they were born. The unit has trained together, lived together, worked together, fought and loved and died together, since they were old enough to remember. Those who weren't as good as we are - most of them - died. But we are what's left.

It would be nice if the two teams had grown up together, too, and were two parts of the same group. On the other hand, there's something to be said for a friendly rivalry of the sort you see from specops groups in today's world. That's up to the individual teams and to the GM. I'm just stating my opinion.

Two things, first

WE NEED A MEDIC....*hrff*huff* sorry, it would be nice, even if 32's mage does take Heal/Treat, he can't be every where at once in case one of us is hurt.

Second: I'll amend my char to add some B&E skills...should have thought about this, she'd be able to do this as point, but I'm glad I have some extra char points. :)

B/G thing, she was trained in the main compound with the rest, just assigned a different team to start...through circumstances..all bad, she's been assigned to Gold. Her original team is well...gone.

A medic would be helpful, yes. And I will, of course, be taking Treat/Heal. :)

Good. B&E covered. Thank you, Slud.

By the way, the only reason I've been holding off on volunteering to lead the team is to see if anyone else is interested. [Like Joseph.] If no one's interested, I'd like to put myself forward for consideration.

I am noticing that our team is the more magic heavy, and Blue is the cyber heavy. Not that'll make much difference, but.

Breakdown of her skill in order of expertise (call sign is tenitavely Whisper, though I'll take ideas for better)

Stealth
Pistols
Athletics
Electronics and B/R
Computers and B/R
Unarmed
SMG's
AR's
SUT

HALO, Parachuting, diving, etc. all round out skills for her.

Languages
English
Russian
German

Other than that, I have a couple of questions answered, but...she's done more or less. :)

Yep. For everyone's information, I'll be writing up the magical group soon. For now, it's enough to know we have one. But I know several of us - like Reika, myself, and Slud - will need one, so I'll get that done and to Paul for his approval ASAP.

The quick background involves her going into S-K training around 15. And I'm also not opposed to her being involved with one of the other team members if people think that would be fun.
