I have a FLAC file that I haven't found in an MP3 format. Does anyone know of a painless way of converting from FLAC to MP3?

Many CD-making software converts FLAC to MP3 automatically when making an audio CD. Otherwise, there are several freeware converters available online, but I can't recommend one because I've never needed to use 'em.

Yeah, this is one of those things I could do for you really easily, because I would use the audio programs I already have, but it's hard to recommend one you could easily use yourself. dbPowerAmp has a free trial period, I think, and it does about everything.

I use Easy CD-DA Extractor. It's not free, but it's worth every penny.

Wait a minute, most programs will play FLAC files as easily as they'll play MP3 files... so why would you want to convert it? Does it have to go on an iPod or something?

Yeah, I bought a CD not realizing it'd be formatted as a series of FLAC files and my MP3 player won't play that format.

It may be a moot point. I can't find my MP3 player. But definitely!
