The Classic Muscle Car thread.

What cars do you consider to be the classic muscle cars you grew up with? This is kind of helping me inspire some stuff for a Rigger in SR4.

1969 Mustang Mach I (with the 390 engine). It was a fastback design and looked both mean and powerful. Best car I ever owned.

Loved my '73 Nova, the Bumblebeast. Bright yellow with black rally stripes. 350, 4 barrel Holley, all of it.

Laughed my ass off when the Probe hit it :lol

Thank you.

Why drive a Ford when you can push a Chevy?

Also, a '63 Studebaker GT Hawk.

She might not look like much, but she can really move.

Any GTO, or Shelby Mustang, or early Camaro/Firebird. I'm also a big fan of the 1967 Plymouth GTX, which some of you will find familiar.

Is the Grand National GNX old enough to be considered classic yet?

I personally dislike the pinched front end of the original Chargers, preferring the more robust front ends of the GM family. MkII vs a snub-nosed .357, I guess.

El Caminos are not muscle cars. Awesome though they may be.

Sal, a Camino is available with a 454 cubic inch bigblock V-8, capable of putting out 450hp, 500 ft-lbs of torque and running the quarter-mile in 13seconds. That's MUSCLE.

In '69, Caminos were available with the chevy L48 350 cu in engine, the same thing used to fame in the Chevelle and Camaro.

I gues purists might argue that it's not a muscle-car, but it seems muscle-y to me.

...huh. I've known a bunch of people with El Caminos, and they're uniformly boats with three-speed transmissions and a top speed of like 70. I didn't know they came in a snarly version.

The SS versions were quite kick-ass. Although, since they only have front seats, one might argue that El Caminos are actually sports cars. But whoever heard of a sports car with a truck bed?

LOL no..."Eleanor" is the name of the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 from the film Gone in 60 Seconds, starring Nicholas Cage...if you were asking me that is.
