Webcomic Recommendations

In the SST forum, users are free to discuss philosophy, music, art, religion, sock colour, whatever. It's a haven from the madness of Bulldrek; alternately intellectual and mundane, this is where the controversy takes place.

Partially Clips: http://www.partiallyclips.com (I recommend the Partially-Clips Lite, since the main format is way too slow to load.)

I've noticed, after a few years of seeing these sorts of threads pop up from time to time, a lot of these comics deal with stuff I just can't relate-which is funny because I do enjoy comic books immensely, but for some reason every time I see a web comic, even a pretty funny one I am just "meh, whatever..." and I go about my day, content to never look at another web comic again.

I'm not weighing in against web comics, simply pointing out my own weird idiosyncrasies.

Order of the Stick is fabulous and way addictive.

It is all about the D&D, good stuff.

I'm more or less the same way; a lot of webcomics focus way too much on "geek" humour, and that's just not funny [to me] anymore. Sometimes there's a gem, but there is no way in hell I would read Order of the Stick front to back, ever. I'm content to look at it when a friend says "This OotS is funny", and sometimes they're right.

I love Questionable Content, but it's a long-running story, and even though each strip is generally funny, you get the most from it by having read it all [and some of the early art was *really* bad.]

Partially Clips also appeals to me, as does XKCD.

But I don't care to read jokes about operating systems or video game consoles, etc. I used to love User Friendly, but I am very happy to have not read it for years, and on occasions when I've peeked in ono the current strips, they just don't do it for me.

It is. Am reading it now, as it happens. :smokin
Geneticists have established that all women share a common ancestor, called Eve, and that all men share a common ancestor, dubbed Adam. However, it has also been established that Adam was born 80.000 years after Eve. So, the world before him was one of heavy to industral strength lesbianism, one assumes.

QC is a good way to kill an entire afternoon. Start at strip one and make your way to number 873. :)

I once read many webcomics, including everything people have already suggested, I've actually cut down on them severely and am now down to about fifteen or so a week.

Two I recommend are Dresden Codak (updates about once a month) and Dr. McNinja (M-W-F).

The first one pretty much defies categorization (for example here is one of my favorites) and the second is about an irish ninja/doctor.

Not all of the comic is about tormenting children, but damn if those don't get me every time. Very well developed comic, blogs for each of the major characters, and it's been around for 5 years or so.

To give something of a perspective, I check close to 50 webcomics every day, and this is the one I'm presenting for public consumption.
