Name Hoarding

I show up here and immediately register as Bethyaga. Cuz that's who I am, dammit.

And then it occured to me that I have several other IDs that I will actually use on this board, and I better get them registered: Olibarro, Karen Schmidt, Tradejack. So I did.

Then I'm sitting around and I realize that I could be Mike Jones. Wouldn't that be cool? Sure, I may not ever use it, but it is my name, and it's not like I'm using up a name someone else on this board is likely to want... hell, sure, I'll register Mike Jones.

But then I went overboard. I can just be Mike. In all my years on the net, I've never been anywhere where the name Mike was available. This may be the only chance I get. So I registered it.

And now I regret it. I'll never post as Mike. I'll never use that ID. I wanted it just because I could have it, and now, a perfectly good name (that others would likely want) is taken out of circulation. What a waste.

And you'd think I'd learn, but no. Next thing I do is go out and register myself as Jeff Hauze. I mean, I know Jeff had kind of a claim to it or something back at v0.2, but this is a fresh start full of new opportunities. Why can't I be Jeff Hauze for a while? I may not actually use it, but it'll be nice to have the option there. I mean, if the name was really that important to him, he would have stayed on as Admin so he could get in here early and lay claim to whatever he wanted, right? Obviously, he had other priorities.

I'm thinking the next names I want are Brother Justice, Earl Hollar, and Caz & Thorn (all one name, so I can pretend to be both of them at once).

Alternately, Caz & Thorn can be changed to the more cutesy Caz n Thorn if ampersands are not acceptable in user names.
