Yeah, the HP I have is LED backlit, made a huge difference in quality of picture.
Then again the LCD monitor that went belly up on me was about 5 years old and seen a lot of abuse.

Perhaps a little late, but this is the monitor I'm currently using. Have to say I'm very pleased with the display on it, though I don't play FPS so not sure how they'd look. And none of the funky distortion on websites that 32 has mentioned at the native 1920x1080 with the window set to maximum, whi...

Thanks 32, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had problems with 8.0 AVG. 7x was good, but it stopped updating the definitions. I did turn it off when playing WoW, but it had some background stuff that I couldn't turn off without uninstalling the stupid thing. I'm fairly careful with my net activities...

Hm, it may have been something in SP3 for XP that did it. It was shortly after that that AVG started interfering with WoW and other games, guess will have to try a new download and clean install. Didn't like McAfee all that much since it was a real resource hog, if that's changed I'd be tempted to t...

I was using the latest edition of AVG Free Edition and was causing issues, so uninstalled it, made sure to clean out any traces, reinstalled. Still causing issues and from what I can tell from searches online, it's the current edition. So I'm looking for a decent, not terribly bloated, anti-virus th...

Why yes, I do happen to live in FL. Jacksonville to be precise. I know of at least 2 morons that got smashed against the rocks per local news. Was trying to see if they had spawned or not to know if I could submit them for Darwin awards. Sorry for the delay, but the asshat ISP that services my compl...

Dear Dumbasses (rant about locals)
We're going through a frigging Tropical Storm, and you're swimming ? And not in your pool, no, where you can presumably get to safety if things get bad. But no, you're in the ocean of all things, where the waves are bad enough they're damaging cement piers. And the worst part? You're not even local ...

(Sorry for the delay, but had been having a hard time getting down what I wanted.) Luridly red skirts of an old style ball gown, one easily dating back to 1800's, swirled about the feet of the buxom redhead whose ringleted hair remained perfectly in place as she danced around her much more imposing ...

Between how quickly the man reacted and the possible extremes, she felt more on edge than she had in the last few weeks. The setup was completely to her advantage, but that didn't help as she activated routines to record everything about this meet. She'd go over the details with a fine tooth comb la...

Re: Starcraft 2
I would've liked it more if the announcement had been for World of Starcraft, like the rumours had suggested, but I'm really happy with this, too. I don't think Blizzard is ready for another MMO (they seem to have finally figured out how to run WoW, let them get that running smoothly), wouldn't be ...

The description is usually under whatever the elemental effect is under the magical weapons section of the DMG. Flaming is +1d6 fire damage, Frost is +1d6 ice damage, etc. The Burst ones do damage on crit and the higher crit multiplier the more elemental damage that does. Secondary effects would be ...

Well, if it makes anyone feel better, the character I have in mind will be a mean hand with a shotgun. But really, I don't have anything concrete in mind so if you have something you'd rather play Scamp, I'm more than happy to dust off one of my old gunbunnies. Hmmm, that's given me an idea. I have ...

So far the rough idea I have for my character is a demolitions expert (also skills with electronics and some computers), possibly even some gunsmithing. If we need a gunbunny I can always dust off another old char of mine to revamp for this game. Edit: She's got some light cyber and bioware, nothing...

Wasn't exactly planning on it. Two of my favored games have known issues with Vista that have yet to be resolved. Most games pre-Vista are having issues with it. I've heard there's been issues with pre-Vista programs in general with Vista, a few techs I've talked to while hanging out before or afte...
