Cain, I'm sorry, but I'm really not interesting in talking with you, in case I haven't made that clear. Your continuing posting certainly isn't changing my perspective on the sort of discussion that would result. I'm not out to change your perspective. If anything, I know my presence will only hard...

You can, of course, decline to participate in intellectual debate. Oh, Cain, I would never decline to participate in intellectual debate. You're right, you'd need a track record of participating in them in the first place. :lol Oh, that's nice: the fishing metaphor. What's it called, when you strin...

Teen Charged for Sending Nude Photos of Herself . We had a similar thread a few years ago here, so I thought I'd throw this out for discussion. Not only is she charged with juvenile pornography for owning and sharing nude photos of herself, other students may be charged as well. Personally, I think...

They seem that way to you, but I believe you are incorrect. I don't know how you're getting what you're getting out of it, but I've learned that most people will simply turn any evidence into support of whatever preconceived idea they possess, rationalizing any differences. I could certainly spend ...

Cain, the fact you don't read the report the same as 32 is what doesn't bother him. I'd be surprised if it did. But he cited it as support for his views. Namely, that it'd be better to suffer through this major recession than to take one of many steps to prevent too much damage from being done. The...

I do not see anything suggesting what you've indicated... Yes, I've noticed that, but it doesn't bother me very much. I simply encourage others to read the report, and draw their own conclusions. Wait a sec. The source you cite for your own statements doesn't support what you claim, and it "do...

Have another depression, which we indeed can afford. The short-term effects will be bracing - which is a polite word for how fucked we'd be - but the long-term effects would be to lower inflation, normalize the economy, and encourage a revisitation of the things that put us here. It won't happen. I...

A credit freeze led to the last great depression, yes. However, it also led to the New Deal. Your country's more socially progressive policies have been riding on that for a long time, which is a very good thing. It also means an end to business as usual, as everything is forced to reform. For exam...

Depends on your area. The "school voucher" program deliberately opens up private schools, but doesn't force them to relax their enterance standards. So, for example, a Baptist school can bar non-Baptist children from attending, yet still accept vouchers from Baptist children.
