32, you should pick up the Song of Ice and Fire series, by George R. R. Martin, if you haven't already. First book is A Game of Thrones. It's exceptionally good, low-magic fantasy, and it strikes me as a reasonably accurate picture of what a fantasy world would actually be like. Less Tolkein, more ...

Well, I loves me some epic, but...it's like fight scenes in some kung fu movies, where there's so much happening, and you're so close to so much of it, that you can't really tell who you're seeing. Now, the Age of Discovery books have some of that, but it's just enough to keep you reading to figure...

Man, I hated Dragoncrown - too epic and confusing for me, like he'd been reading Robert Jordan - but read it all anyway. I'm working on the second book of the new series, now - Cartomancy - and while it doesn't have the flair and cohesion of his older works, I mostly can keep track of who is whom a...

Just finished Michael Stackpole's Dragoncrown Series.
Read the prequel many years ago and just recently read the series.
If you are a fan of fantasy novels I would highly recommend them. Good stuff.

Ice, as for the blaming of people rather than tools, that doesn't work. If the communities can't be policed in a way that's in line with how people are policed elsewhere, then other options outside of personal responsibility needs to be looked at. Aboriginal communities work without alcohol, we've ...

The banning is supported by a wide range of leaders within the Aboriginal community, and has received an awful lot of support right across the board in politics. Both parties have said that this is a good idea. I know that it stinks of Orientalism, whites telling blacks what to do, but I really can...

Poland is one of those on the loosing end of the pyramid. (personally I think there does need to be fewer people about) http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/idbpyr.html That's a really cool website. There are quite a few countries right now that have a negative over all population growth. You can see it in the population pyramids for the different regions. I bet you'll be one happy camper if you can get back to Colorado and find yourself a nice medium-sized town to live in, with plenty of work that doesn't involve raising your own livestock, and plenty of people to associate with, but the opportunity to be out and away from it all. I would indeed. No...

We like our easy jobs. We like our ea...

Last night I had a major geek out/Nostalgia moment. When I was a child there was one cartoon that I absolutely loved over all others. This was a time before anime and the shows we have today. There where three categories really that I can remember. The normal cartoons (G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thunde...

If your pet could speak english, what kind of voice would they have?
We see often movies and shows where they give animals "voices"
Is there a certain <voiceclass> that your pet would have?
